CHALLENGE:
Design a K–5 curriculum that could translate complex social-emotional learning concepts into experiences that students could easily understand, explore, and apply in their daily lives.
SOLUTION:
Created Mindscapes (mindset + landscapes), an experiential learning system that invites students to explore six metaphorical emotional destinations, each represented through a unique natural environment and aligned to specific SEL skills. A cohesive visual language spanning activity cards and personalized student notebooks transformed abstract concepts into engaging, hands-on experiences that encouraged reflection, practice, and personal growth.
Summer Camp Art Class tapped into childhood memories during summer months and time spent making arts and crafts at camp, home, or a local rec center. This theme lent itself to the six outdoor Mindscapes that students experience throughout the program.

Teacher Guides and Journal
One teacher guide per grade span, K-2 and 3-5. Guides were color-coded for easy identification between grades. The program also came with a consumable teacher journal “field guide” to keep track of students progress and accomplishments.
Student Notebooks
Three age-related student consumable notebooks were available. Grades K-1, 2-3, and grade 5. The covers, printed on uncoated stock, allowed students to draw on and personalize their notebook.
